作品简介
——钱穀(1508-1578年)，长州(江苏吴县)人，字叔宝，自号磬室。少孤失学，迨壮，游文征明门下，始得书读之。以其馀力，点染水墨，山水兰竹兼妙。 杏花𫔭于春日，枝头上飞来一隻喜鹊，寓有喜报春讯之意。画花写鸟之笔墨雅淡润厚，并有沈周文征明之遗韵。
Ch’ien Ku was a native of Wu-hsien, Kiangsu. His style name was Shu-pao, and he called himself Ch’ing-shih. As he was an orphan, his schooling was neglected. Later, when he became a pupil of Wen Cheng-ming (1470-1559), he eagerly devoted himself to reading. In his spare moments he painted excellent landscapes, orchids, and bamboo. Apricot flowers bloom in the spring. A magpie, also a harbinger of spring, has just landed on an apricot tree. The artist’s glossy, rich brushwork used in depicting the bird’s feathers is evidence of the influence of Ming masters Shen Chou and Wen Cheng-ming
